This session was a special one for me. Not just because I got to photograph this maternity session for my friend and web designer (she’s the one who makes this site look so awesome! Check her out at: www.ajfrench.com), but because this was a very big step in her journey. Maybe this means more to me because I have walked and continue to walk the same journey. Sometimes in life we don’t always get what we want, when we want it. Sometimes we have to wait a lot longer than we can comprehend. This is the beginning of the road to be traveled. We walk. Day after day, we walk and we wonder. We pray for patience and we have a little ache inside that doesn’t seem to go away. But we keep on walking. For those of us who are walking and wondering through a journey, maybe in the woods at times, I invite you to see some photos of hope. I am so thankful for God’s timing because it is always right. I am so excited about this sweet baby girl that has been prayed for many long years. We are so happy for your family Anna!
Thank you to my girl Brit for always making things more beautiful. She is so talented, please check out her work here: www.britainy.com.
One of the things that I know to be very important is reflecting. Thinking back on where you have been and how that has shaped you so far. When I reflect on a season of life I am reminded of my experiences and I am typically grateful for that particular season, whether it was joyful or difficult, because all of it is working towards growing me in one way or another. Just this past week I found an old journal from when I was 10 years old. I’m kind of proud of my 10 year old self for taking the time to journal. I loved reading about my school day and the drama of 10 year old girls. I loved getting a glimps into my life as a 10 year old. As I reflect back on this past year I can’t help but be overwhelmed with gratitude. This unexpected journey into photography has meant more to me than I think I could ever express in words. First and foremost, it has allowed me to stay home with my kids. It has allowed me to meet some of the most amazing people. It has stretched me creatively in ways I didn’t think I was capable. I do not hold it lightly at all that God has allowed me to do something that I love so much and to actually financially help our family with it. I know that is rare and I know that I am living a dream that I don’t deserve at all. So with a very full heart I just want to say thank you. Thank you to God, to my family, to my amazing clients who trust me to capture their lives. I am honored to do what I do. I know that I am blessed beyond what I deserve.
Blake and Meredith had a rustic and elegant wedding at the Brook at Weatherford. I fell in love with this venue. It’s just perfect in every way, kind of like this wedding was. I loved getting to know Blake and Meredith during our process of engagements and bridals. One of the things I adore about this job is getting to know my couples really well before the wedding day. Meredith and Blake are definitely some of my favorites.
This wedding was AH-Mazing! I mean, I don’t even know where to begin. Lets just say when Martha Sparkles (a professional singer/dancer/performer)is putting together her wedding, you better believe it’s going to be incredible. Enjoy these photos from an incredible day!
